Anderson.<\/p>\n<p>My thoughts on <strong>Kanban<\/strong> and the book:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a great <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Kanban-Successful-Evolutionary-Technology-Business\/dp\/0984521402\" target=\"_blank\">book<\/a>, you should read it. I <strong>highly recommend it<\/strong> as introduction to Kanban.<\/li>\n<li>Kanban is oriented on <strong>consistent throughput<\/strong>. Scrum, on the other hand, focuses on feedback\/improvement loops.<\/li>\n<li>You can apply Kanban to complex projects, but it seems <strong>better suited to smaller applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The layered approach to larger jobs, that is described in the second part of the book, is less\u00a0intuitive than\u00a0Scrum, in my opinion. It is not that it would not work, it is just less complex with Scrum.<\/li>\n<li>Kanban is a <strong>perfect fit for teams that focus on request-based\u00a0work<\/strong>, where the scope is\u00a0well understood.<\/li>\n<li>Groups that it might\u00a0fit best:\n<ul>\n<li>Sustaining Engineering\/Maintenance Engineering<\/li>\n<li>IT<\/li>\n<li>Release Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Limiting Work In Progress<\/strong> is crucial. Capping WIP is important to all agile methodologies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scrum and Kanban should borrow from each other<\/strong>. Standups, WIP limit, reviews, automation&#8230; &#8211; are\u00a0practices used regardless of approach used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post was inspired by the &#8222;Kanban: Successful Evolutionary Change for Your Technology Business&#8221; book\u00a0by David J.
